The Samuel Ryder Foundation
The Society is pleased to support the work of the Foundation.
Samuel Ryder was a businessman extraordinaire, model employer, supporter of charities, promoter of the arts, mayor of St Albans and sportsman.
He is best known as the benefactor of one of the world’s most famous sporting trophies the Ryder Cup, however in his life he achieved so much and stood for values which we admire today.
The Samuel Ryder Foundation aims to raise awareness of Samuel Ryder and to promote objectives that he would support.
Trustees of the Samuel Ryder Foundation were instrumental in creating and launching the Samuel Ryder St Albans Trail in association with the City Tour Guides and the City and District Council.
This is a self-guided trail taking you round 9 or 18 places associated with Samuel covering his business, domestic, civic, church, charitable and sporting life.
