2026 Awards – now open for nominations

The St Albans Civic Society Awards 2026 will celebrate imaginative development and design initiatives which have been completed within the city in the previous two years – anything from an entire housing scheme to a beautifully restored archway. While many of the projects considered are architectural, and can involve restoration as well as new buildings, we have also previously given awards to green space refurbishment. To qualify, all nominated projects will need to have been completed by the end of 2025, which means that projects undertaken during 2024 and 2025 are eligible.

We want to hear about anything that enhances the quality of our city’s amenities, environment or public realm – whether domestic or commercial, be it a striking new build or a skilled restoration project. And it’s not just about buildings – the Society’s Awards cover anything that enhances the quality of St Albans’ environment or amenities. Our special prize, the Trevelyan Award, is presented for a striking conservation project. We’re looking for a wide range of nominations – this could be new development, large or small, a restored window on a period property, a rebuilt wall, even a small extension, anything that you feel adds to the character of its surroundings and displays craftsmanship and creativity.

If you know of a project that you feel deserves recognition, please let us know by emailing St Albans Civic Society on secretary@stalbanscivicsociety.com

The Awards presentation will take place in October this year at the Abbey Theatre. The closing date for nominations is Friday July 31, 2026.
