Membership is open to all – to everyone who shares our aim to make our City attractive for residents and visitors. Whether you would like to be an active member, or simply remain in the background, we value your support. Membership entitles you to regular lively meetings, a quarterly newsletter, regular email updates, visits to other towns and cities and – above all – a chance to be involved in how our city and its green spaces prosper.
Membership information
The Society’s subscription year runs from 1 April, though new members are welcome to join at any time. Those joining after 31 January are offered free membership until 31 March of the same year but should supply their payment details (see below) with their membership registration.

Subscription Rates
- Subscription rates: payment due annually on 1 April
- Individual £10
- Family (2 or more living at the same address) £15
- Corporate £50
Subscriptions are best paid by Standing Order. The SO can be cancelled at any time though no refunds are offered for cancellation after the start of the subscription year.
Annual BACS payments are also acceptable using the same bank details.
GIFT AID
As a registered charity, the Society can claim Gift Aid on subscriptions at no cost to the member. If you are a UK taxpayer, please complete the following declaration and include it in your membership registration email/letter.
GIFT AID DECLARATION. I (name and address) pay tax at not less than the basic rate. From the date of this declaration, I want any payments I may make to St Albans Civic Society (charity number 200330) to be treated as Gift Aid donations.
